Yazd University as a newly-established
university has expanded considerably during the
last 15 years from 1988 to 2004.
At the time being with more than 307 teaching
and research staff members , 433 working staff
and 6638 students at BA & BS, MA & MS,
PhD levels who are mainly from the home country
, the high board trustees of the university is
attempting hard to expand its research and scientific
relationships with other universities and higher
education institutes overseas .
International & Scientific Cooperation Office
(ISCO) of Yazd University is responsible to implement
the regarded needs of the university decided upon
by the university in terms of mutual cooperation
between yazd and other universities During the
last 10 years of ISCO activities the following
memorandum of agreements have been signed between
yazd university and the following overseas universities
and higher education institutes: |
- A Memorandum of Understanding of Cooperation
between School of Art & Architecture of
Yazd University,Iran and Paris-Belleville
School of Architecture, France .
- A Memorandum of Understanding of Cooperation
between Yazd University ,Iran and University
of Agricultural Sciences Vienna, Austria (
BOKU ) in Research & Scientific Activities.
- A Memorandum of Understanding of Cooperation
between Yazd University, Iran and V.V.Dokuchaw
Soil Institute(VVDSI ),Russia
- A Memorandum of Understanding of Cooperation
between Yazd University, Iran And the Technical
University of British Columbia, Canada in
Research and Scientific Activities .
- A Memorandum of Understanding of Cooperation
between school of Art & Architecture of
Yazd university, Iran and school of Architecture
of Grenoble , France .

Some of the items of the agreements which have
been put into effects with some universities are
as follows :

- To provide the necessary facilities to establish
a research and training center on earthen
architecture.
- To cooperate to work jointly on the design
of people‘s housing in local materials
including earthquake resistant devices.
- To set up training session for local people
and contractors around demonstrative working
sites.
- To provide necessary documents concerning
the reconstruction of Bam and define a specific
working programmed to start.
- To facilitate the exchange of academic members,
researchers and experts for conducting research,
teaching or exchange of ideas.
- To exchange students in the areas of mutual
interest and to hold workshops for them consistent
with regulations of both countries.
- To collaborate in defining joint projects
and holding joint scientific research, Art
& Architecture exhibitions.
- To provide opportunities for teaching staff
members and researchers to particulate in
symposia and international conferences of
both school.
- To provide necessary facilities to exchange
staff members to spend their sabbatical leaves
in each other’s universities.
- The financing of any of the above –mentioned
activities shall be subject to mutual agreements.

Additionally the ISCO is
facilitating the process of sending Yazd University
teaching /research staff to other universities
abroad for their PhD studies as well as presenting
their papers at International Conferences.
Recognizing the importance of peace and security
among all nations in international community ,
Yazd University to expand its academic research
and cultural cooperation with other universities
around the world and welcome any effort made by
other countries for more cooperation based on
their opportunities and their constraints. |
