Meybod
This town is located in the northwest of Yazd, on the road of Yazd-isfahan. Meyhod is one of the words of Middle Persian that was applied to this city in the Sassanid era and it has been brought in the historical & geographical writings of the Islamic period, many times.

Handicrafts of Meybod
Carpet weaving, cashmere weaving, brocade weaving, velvet weaving, wrapper for bed-cloths(Chador Shab), blanket weaving, napery weaving, handkerchief and bed sheet(Shamand), are handicrafts of most parts of Yazd. But pileless carpet(Zilu) weaving, since Pre-Islamic period, production of ceramic, belongs to 6th or 7th century B.C. and tile making, with 700 years background, are specifically for Meybod.
