Mehriz
With an area of 6717 sq. km, this township is located in the south and southwest of the Yazd. Mehriz includes Markazi district and five villages. Its population is about 74000.

The foundation date of this town and the outskirts back to Pre-lslamic period and it is attributed to Mehrnegar, Anoushirvan's daughter, and also Khormiz village, near Mehriz, is attributed to Hormoz. Also, traces of old city of Yazd Isatis are found in Harafteh area (ex. Farafar).
